Irish Association for the Social Integration of Offenders (IASIO)

IASIO – the Irish Association for the Social Integration of Offenders is an independent company formed in January 2012. It is a national community based organisation for adult offenders in the criminal justice system with a specific focus on alternatives to both offending and re-imprisonment.

  • If you are interested in becoming a client of IASIO’s Linkage Service you should first speak to your Probation Officer who must make the suitable referral to one of our Training and Employment Officers for you.
  • If you are interested in becoming a client of IASIO’s Gate Service you should first speak to a suitable person in the prison (for example the Chief Officer, the Chaplain, the psychologist or the ISM officer). This person must make the referral to one of our Training and Employment Officers for you.
  • If you are interested in becoming a client of IASIO’s Resettlement Service you should first speak to a suitable person in the prison, such as your ISM Officer, who will get in touch with our Resettlement Coordinators for you.

Please note that referrals to IASIO services must be made through a suitable person, as outlined above.

If you feel your client would benefit from engaging with IASIO you should make sure they satisfy the following criteria before proceeding:

  • To engage with the Linkage Service, your client must be on probation at present (or have been on probation at some point in their past) and willing to seek a referral from a Probation Officer.
  • To engage with the GATE or Resettlement Services your client must be willing to seek a referral from a relevant referring agent in the Prison.
